How to Test The Polished Aluminum Strip Specification and Performance

The polished aluminum strip is a kind of aluminum strips with a smooth surface, which is often used in construction, home decoration, electronic products, automobile manufacturing and other fields.

Specification and performance testing of mirror aluminum strips can ensure that the quality and performance of the product comply with relevant standards and requirements, and can also provide a scientific basis for product development and improvement.

Specification test

1. Size measurement

Measure the length, width and thickness of the mirrored aluminum strip by using a tool such as a micrometer or gauge. Multiple measurements can be taken on different areas and then averaged to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results.

2. Flatness detection

Use a ruler or flat measuring tool to inspect the polished aluminum strip to see if there are any bending, warping or other problems on the surface. The flatness can be evaluated by measuring the length difference between the two diagonals of the aluminum sheet.

3. Surface quality inspection

Observe with the naked eye whether there are obvious scratches, dents, oxidation, color differences and other problems on the surface of the aluminum strip. It can also be carefully observed using a microscope and magnifying glass to evaluate minor defects on the surface.

Performance test

1. Strength test

Use mechanical property testing instruments to conduct tensile, bending, impact and other performance tests on the mirror aluminum strip. The strength and toughness of the polished aluminum strip are evaluated by testing parameters such as yield strength, tensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength.

2. Hardness test

Use a hardness tester to measure the hardness value of the mirror aluminum strip. The commonly used hardness testing methods include Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness and Vickers hardness, etc. The appropriate testing method can be selected according to the application requirements.

3. Anti-corrosion performance test

The corrosion resistance of mirror aluminum strip is evaluated by placing the aluminum plates in salt water or acid-base liquids for corrosion experiments. You can observe whether oxidation, discoloration, corrosion and other reactions occur on the surface of the aluminum plate, and then evaluate its anti-corrosion performance.

4. Thermal expansion test

Thermal expansion properties of mirrored aluminum sheets were evaluated by heating them and measuring their length changes. Thermal expansion instruments can be used for testing, recording length changes at different temperatures, and drawing thermal expansion curves.

5. Surface flatness test

Use optical instruments or laser measuring instruments to test the surface flatness of thin aluminum strips. Evaluate the flatness of the plate surface by measuring the height difference and flatness parameters of the plate surface.
