An Overview of Aluminum Foil Strips

Aluminum is often the best solution when properties such as light weight, good electrical conductivity and high formability are required. To meet these needs, Haomei Aluminum supplies its customers with strips of aluminum in a variety of thicknesses and alloy compositions. The common alloys are 1050, 1100, 1145, 5052, 8011,3003,etc.

Main Applications

1. Battery

2. Transformer

3. Cable shielding

4. Packaging

5. Lighting

6. Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics

Main Alloys

1000 series: It is pure aluminum. The aluminum content is calculated at least 99% based on weight, which can be processed hardly.

3000 series: It belongs to aluminum manganese alloy, which can be processed hardly.

5000 series: It belongs to aluminum -magnesium alloy.

6000 series: It belongs to aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy, which are easy to process and can precipitate hardening, but cannot reach the high strength that 2000 and 7000 series alloys have.

8000 series: The commonly used one is 8011 aluminum foil strip.

Quality index

The most intuitive index of aluminum strips is accuracy. The aluminum strip is processed by the aluminum coil through the slitting equipment, so the processing thickness and tolerance of the aluminum strip are closely related to the slitting equipment. Our aluminum strip slitting equipment is all from Germany, which can effectively control the width tolerance within 0.05mm.

At present, aluminum strips with a thickness of 0.15-3.0mm can be cut to ensure no scratches and precise width tolerance control. In terms of thickness, it can be controlled by 0.01mm. Increased precision can reduce scrap rates and increase production efficiency.

If there are special requirements for aluminum foil strip, it must be indicated in the contract, such as outer diameter, inner diameter, whether the surface is filmed, and the specific requirements for packaging. For the packaging, the sleeve is used inside to avoid deformation of the aluminum strip, which is more convenient for subsequent processing.
